May is Speech and Hearing Month!

I look forward every year to the month of May - it heralds warmer weather, a return to gardening, and the first long weekend of Spring/Summer! But, I also look forward to it because it's Speech and Hearing Month, the time when speech-language pathologists and audiologists in Canada and the United States typically make a special effort to increase public awareness about how speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders can affect the people who have them (and their family members), and what people can do about them.
