Schedule of Clinical Fees

Consults

Consults serve a screening function; they allow me to learn enough about potential clients' problems to know whether or not I can help them.  They also allow potential clients to learn enough about my services to know whether or not to place their trust in me.  Consults are a complimentary service I offer to new clients, in which they have up to 30 minutes to discuss their speech, voice, language, or swallowing problem with me, without obligation.

Assessments

Assessments are normally billed at the rate of $150 per hour*.

Assessments may range in duration from one to three hours.  Their duration depends on the nature and complexity of the person's communication and/or swallowing problems, on the person's health status, and on other factors.  For example, voice assessments normally take one to one-and-one-half hours to complete; whereas, cognitive-communication assessments may take three hours to complete.

Treatments

Treatments are normally also billed at the rate of $150 per hour*.

Treatment sessions typically range in duration from 30 to 60 minutes, and are scheduled for once or twice each week.  Their duration and frequency depend on the nature and complexity of the person's communication and/or swallowing problems, on the person's health status, on our mutual schedules, and on the person's financial situation, among other factors.  I may recommend a block of treatment sessions over a few weeks, at the end of which both the client and I appraise the client's progress.

Other Services

Other services include my analysis and interpretation of the assessment findings, a written assessment report, development of a treatment plan, travel time (if services are being provided off site), and conferences and other meetings I might attend on a client's behalf.  The fee for these clinical services is normally $150 per hour*.

* Please note that my hourly rate is substantially lower than the $196 per hour rate for private speech-language pathology services recommended by the Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA) in 2017.  My hourly rate is less than that recommended by OSLA because I have found ways to reduce my overhead costs.  I am therefore pleased to pass those savings on to my clients.
